Cambodia Women's Association to Strengthen Capacity Building and Rights Protection

The Cambodia Women's Association convened a pivotal meeting in Phnom Penh to comprehensively review its work achievements during the first half of 2026 and to delineate a clear operational direction for the subsequent period. Presiding over the assembly, President Men Sam An, of the Cambodia Women's Association for Peace and Development, extended high commendation and profound appreciation for the unwavering spirit of responsibility, intelligence, and relentless effort demonstrated by the leadership, officials, and all members across every echelon. She highlighted their sacrifices of physical strength, mental fortitude, and intellect in serving the cause of women and children, and their active contributions to national social development. President Men Sam An further emphasized that under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the policies aimed at uplifting and supporting women at all levels are being steadfastly reinforced through the "Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1." She underscored the clear commitment to increasing opportunities for women, promoting gender equality, enhancing digital capabilities, fostering women's economic empowerment, and safeguarding the rights and well-being of women and children under all circumstances. To translate these guiding recommendations into tangible outcomes for the second half of 2026, President Men Sam An urged leaders and members of the Cambodia Women's Association for Peace and Development at all levels to continue focusing on several key points: 1. Strengthening and Expanding Women's Capacity Building: It is imperative to continue organizing training programs focused on specialized skills, leadership, and digital literacy for the grassroots women's network. This aims to equip women with adequate capabilities to compete effectively and to be well-prepared for future electoral participation. 2. Continuously Reinforcing Association Networks at the Grassroots Level: Maintain close engagement with the populace, particularly women and children who are vulnerable, to provide timely assistance in resolving their challenges. This effort is crucial for contributing to the eradication of domestic violence and human trafficking. 3. Preserving Solidarity and Cooperation: Fortify excellent collaboration with local authorities at all administrative levels and with partner organizations. This synergy is vital for ensuring that the association's activities proceed smoothly and achieve high levels of effectiveness. 4. Ensuring Success in Implementing Decisions: All women members, irrespective of their level, must diligently work towards the successful execution of the action plans of the Cambodia Women's Association and the Women's Movement Committee. This commitment is essential for contributing to the upcoming election of commune/sangkat councilors for the 6th mandate in 2027. The meeting saw the participation of esteemed ladies from various branches, ministries, institutions, and from all 25 provinces and cities, with many joining via the Zoom platform, totaling over 1,000 attendees.
