“Autumn Moon Borderland” Program Held in Vietnam-Laos Border Area, Providing Health and Educational Support for Children

On September 12, the "Autumn Moon Borderland" program was held in Na Ngoi village, a border area in Nghe An province, north-central Vietnam. This program aims to improve the health and lives of children in border regions and provide them with beneficial recreational spaces. The event was jointly organized by the Army Television and Radio Center under the Ministry of National Defence, the Population, Family and Children Committee of the Ministry of National Defence, the Border Guard Command, the Coast Guard Command, and the 7th Military Region Command. A medical team, comprising doctors from the 354 Military Hospital and medical personnel from the Nghe An Border Guard, provided free health check-ups, health advice, and medicine to 300 residents, prioritizing children, the elderly, disadvantaged families, and those in difficult circumstances. This initiative contributed to raising awareness about disease prevention and health management among the border population. Furthermore, a basketball court was donated to the Na Ngoi Primary and Secondary Boarding School, aiming to enhance its facilities and create a space for students' physical activities and recreation. As part of the program, social welfare activities were also conducted, including free surgeries for children with special needs, the awarding of scholarships and bicycles, and the distribution of 500 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts. Notably, the evening festival, featuring cultural and artistic performances, lion dances, lantern processions, and Mid-Autumn Festival gatherings, provided an opportunity to deepen engagement with local residents.
