Vietnam Communist Party Emphasizes Theory and Cadre Development

Vietnam's Communist Party has outlined a policy to comprehensively strengthen Party building, theoretical development, and cadre training during the opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year at the National Academy of Politics. This policy was presented by Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Standing Secretary of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the foundation that supports Vietnam's political and social stability and sustainable growth. Vietnam operates under a one-party system led by the Communist Party, with economic growth as its top priority. While achieving rapid economic development in recent years, the Party recognizes the necessity of reinforcing its governance capabilities and theoretical foundation to cope with societal diversification and evolving international dynamics. This policy is understood to aim at maintaining and enhancing the Party's leadership in light of these contexts. Specifically, theoretical development and cadre training are directly linked to the dissemination of the Party's ideology and the securing of competent personnel capable of responding to societal changes. The National Academy of Politics serves as a central institution for the Party's theoretical research and cadre development, and its role is expected to become increasingly significant. Exchanges among young party leaders from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are also taking place, aiming to strengthen cooperation among regional party organizations. Vietnam's economic growth has significantly contributed to attracting foreign investment and expanding export industries. However, its sustainability relies on political stability and clear policy management.
