Cambodia Drafts Rural Development and Model Village Strategy Plan 2026-2033

His Excellency Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, on the morning of Monday, September 21, 2026, presided over a meeting to review the draft strategic plan on rural community development and the model village movement for the period 2026-2033 at the Ministry's headquarters. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Permanent Secretary of State, His Excellency, Ladies and Gentlemen, leaders, and technical officials of the Ministry of Rural Development. The meeting thoroughly reviewed and discussed the draft strategic plan prepared by the technical working group. Participants contributed input and made adjustments to shortcomings to ensure the draft strategic plan is comprehensive and can be implemented successfully, with high efficiency and effectiveness. His Excellency the Minister expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the meeting participants and the technical working group for their efforts in preparing this important draft document, which will serve as a strategic roadmap for all relevant parties to implement, thereby accelerating the development of rural communities in Cambodia. His Excellency the Minister advised the technical working group to incorporate the inputs received from the meeting into the draft strategic plan. This is to ensure that the strategic plan, once finalized and officially promulgated, is in conformity with the National Policy on Rural Development 2025-2035 of the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly, under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
