Cambodia Extends Fuel Price Subsidies to Ease Living Costs

The Ministry of Commerce in Cambodia has issued a notification regarding the retail prices of fuel at stations for the period from 1 PM on August 4, 2026, to August 11, 2026. The government has decided to continue providing subsidies on gasoline and diesel fuel to help ease the burden on citizens' livelihoods. Specifically, a subsidy of 6.5 US cents per liter will continue to be applied. Furthermore, an additional subsidy of 1 cent per liter will be implemented due to international gasoline prices exceeding $90 per barrel and international diesel prices exceeding $100 per barrel. Customs duties will remain at zero dollars. In response to the continued increase in international market fuel prices, transportation costs, and insurance premiums, the Prime Minister has decided to further reduce taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel to zero dollars. The special tax on gasoline will be reduced from 30% to 15%, and on diesel from 4% to 0%. Additionally, the value-added tax on gasoline will be reduced from 10% to 4%, and on diesel from 10% to 0%. The government will bear a total of 6% for gasoline and 10% for diesel. Consequently, the retail prices of fuel to be implemented weekly from 1 PM on August 4, 2026, to August 11, 2026, will be 4,450 Riel per liter for regular gasoline (Gasoline 92) and 5,200 Riel per liter for diesel (Gasoil 10ppm).
