Kuehne+Nagel Expands Cambodian Logistics Footprint with Major Investment

Global logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel is deepening its partnership with local player TEC Srun to bolster its presence in Cambodia's logistics sector. The company is constructing a new 20,000-square-meter Container Freight Station (CFS) in Phnom Penh, with plans to triple the country's cargo handling capacity by 2027. Philippe Klemm, National Sea Logistics Manager at Kuehne+Nagel, stated that the investment is fundamentally driven by confidence in Cambodia's future. In recent years, Cambodia has continued to develop as an important manufacturing and sourcing hub, with growing demand from sectors such as garments, footwear, and electronics. To meet this demand, the company aims to provide more efficient cargo consolidation, faster handling, and scalable logistics solutions. The partnership has evolved from a simple customer-supplier relationship into a long-term strategic collaboration. Kuehne+Nagel brings its global network spanning over 100 countries, international expertise, and advanced digital capabilities, while TEC Srun contributes deep local market knowledge, infrastructure, and nearly three decades of operational excellence in Cambodia. This complementarity is creating synergies that neither company could achieve alone. Klemm views Cambodia as an increasingly important market within Kuehne+Nagel's regional Southeast Asia strategy. While the market may be smaller than some neighboring economies, its growth potential is significant. The company sees substantial opportunities in manufacturing, cross-border supply chains, e-commerce support, and logistics infrastructure development. With the new CFS set to come online in 2027 and Cambodia's port capacities growing, Kuehne+Nagel aims to establish Phnom Penh and Cambodia more broadly as an increasingly important logistics gateway within the region. The company plans to continue investing in infrastructure, technology, and talent to support customers and contribute to Cambodia's economic growth.
