Vietnam's NA Chairman meets DPK leader, vows stronger cooperation

Lauding the friendship and sound cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) in recent years, Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man called on both sides to continue effectively following their 2019 cooperation agreement and foster political trust and mutual understanding by maintaining all-level delegation exchanges and meetings. The meeting took place in the context of celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea, aiming to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. In particular, expanding cooperation in the economic field was an important agenda item. Vietnam welcomes investment from South Korea and expects contributions from South Korea's innovation network and experts. This indicates Vietnam's desire to deepen cooperation with South Korea to sustain economic growth and promote technological innovation. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the Communist Party plays a leading political role, and party-to-party exchanges are emphasized in foreign policy. This meeting, considering Vietnam's political system, aims to stably develop political and economic relations between the two countries by strengthening relations with major political parties in South Korea. In particular, economic relations with South Korea are one of the important pillars for Vietnam, and further expansion of trade cooperation is being explored.
