Three creek dredging projects in Myeik Township of Tanintharyi Region have been completed to improve water flow and prevent flooding in monsoon paddy fields, according to the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department. The projects, funded by the 2026–2027 regional government budget, included dredging three creeks in Thamote , Inga Maw and Sandawut village-tracts. The completed works are expected to protect about 110 acres of monsoon paddy fields from flooding and reduce waterlogging on nearby roads, including sections of the Union Highway.
