Illegal Market Stalls to be Removed in Pyinmana City

U Win Moe Khine, a member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, stated that illegal market stalls will be removed and cleared to facilitate the cleaning of garbage from drainage canals in Pyinmana City. This was stated in response to a star question posed by U Khin Maung Thet, the Member of Parliament for Pyinmana constituency, on the 19th day of the second regular session of the third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, held on July 6. U Khin Maung Thet, the Member of Parliament for Pyinmana constituency, who asked the star question, stated that due to the lack of drainage canal excavation in some wards and streets within Pyinmana City, flooding has occurred, and it is necessary to clarify the difficulty in removing garbage that is blocking the drainage canals due to market stalls situated on them. In response to this question, U Win Moe Khine, a member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, stated that the Pyinmana Township Municipal Administration Office carries out monthly cleaning operations, and the Nay Pyi Taw Municipal Committee will proceed with the removal and clearing of illegal stalls in accordance with the law. He also mentioned that the urban development status of Pyinmana City was studied and analyzed in collaboration with the Directorate of Urban and Housing Development under the Ministry of Construction and the Nay Pyi Taw Municipal Committee for the 2023-2024 financial year, and plans were drawn up by urban planning experts. Furthermore, U Win Moe Khine, a member of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, replied that based on these plans, drainage canals have been constructed throughout Pyinmana City to ensure good water flow, and drainage canal cleaning operations are also being carried out.
