Kep Province Provides Land Ownership Certificates to Families Affected by Boat Sinking Incident

Kep, Cambodia – August 5, 2026 – Dr. Som Pisith, Governor of Kep Province and Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and offered condolences to families affected by a boat sinking incident that occurred in May 2026. During the visit, he handed over land ownership certificates to the affected families. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of a mother and her two sons, leaving behind a husband and one daughter. The governor expressed his deep sorrow and reiterated his condolences to the grieving family. He encouraged the family members to persevere through their difficulties and continue to rebuild their lives. Governor Som Pisith also emphasized the importance of education for the surviving daughter, urging her to study diligently to build her future, support her family, and become a valuable asset to society. The provision of land ownership certificates aims to provide a sense of security and stability for the affected families as they navigate their recovery and future.
