Tansonnhat Airport: 5 Live Bullets Found in Luggage

Ho Chi Minh City – Five live 12.7mm military-grade bullets and four casings were discovered in the checked luggage of a 21-year-old man at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, prompting an ongoing investigation. The incident occurred on September 15 when security personnel, during a baggage scan at Terminal 3, detected suspicious items in the man's backpack as he was checking in for a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa. Upon inspection, airport security identified five bullets and four casings suspected to be military ammunition. The man stated that he found these items while excavating sand in Vinh Long province in August and brought them back for his collection. Forensic examination by the Ho Chi Minh City Police's Technical Criminal Science Department confirmed that the five bullets were 12.7mm caliber military ammunition and were in usable condition. The Tan Son Nhat Airport Border Guard Police have handed over the case to the Ho Chi Minh City Police for further investigation.
