Cambodian Ruling Party Directs Local Authorities to Serve Citizens in All Aspects, Including Livelihoods, Security, and Infrastructure

Hun Peng, a member of the Cambodian People's Party's (CPP) central committee and chairman of the CPP Phnom Penh committee, has instructed district and commune authorities in Phnom Penh to provide "comprehensive services to citizens in all aspects." These services include supporting people's livelihoods, maintaining security, and improving infrastructure. He urged them to gain citizens' trust through these efforts and secure continued votes for the CPP. The directive was given during a meeting with party members from Touk Svay Prey 1 and 2 communes on the afternoon of July 22, 2026, after administrative hours. Hun Peng emphasized the importance of local authorities understanding and assisting citizens facing hardship, including those unable to afford funeral expenses or lacking coffins. He stated that the Phnom Penh municipal administration would guarantee coverage of such costs, and citizens in need could contact their nearest commune or district administration. He further noted the need to maintain the party's popularity and continued public support by strengthening areas of weakness, particularly in improving the quality of public services. Hun Peng asserted that the CPP must continue to win and "no other party has the capability to protect peace like the CPP." He urged authorities to disseminate information about the development of the nation under former Prime Minister Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet, as well as their firm commitment to territorial integrity, to ensure continued public support and victory in the 2027 and 2028 elections. During the event, commune chiefs and village leaders reported on the party's achievements and ongoing action plans, such as party membership development and maintaining local security. They also conveyed the sentiment of local residents who fully support the actions of Hun Sen and Hun Manet regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute and the boycott of Thai goods.
