Vietnam's BRICS Summit Participation Boosts Multilateral Diplomacy

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's attendance at the 18th BRICS Summit in India has reaffirmed Vietnam's foreign policy of proactive and active integration into the world. This participation has contributed to advancing Vietnam's multilateral diplomacy and enhancing its role and standing within regional and global multilateral mechanisms. Meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the summit fostered strengthened political trust, deepened bilateral cooperation, and promoted coordination in multilateral forums. This has created new momentum for Vietnam's relations with its partners, facilitating opportunities for national development. Specifically, regarding relations with Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Chinh identified the country as one of Vietnam's most important partners in the Middle East and expressed a desire for further development of bilateral relations. In its relations with Burundi, he thanked the country for supporting Lumitel, a telecommunications joint venture by Vietnam's Viettel Group, and called for Lumitel's increased participation in e-government and digital transformation projects. Vietnam upholds a consistent foreign policy based on independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development. Its participation in multilateral mechanisms like BRICS serves to concretize this policy. Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that Vietnam's development model is "people-centric," prioritizing institutional reform, modern governance, and science and technology while ensuring harmony among economic growth, social equity, and environmental protection. He affirmed Vietnam's readiness to work with BRICS nations in a spirit of responsibility, goodwill, and substantive cooperation to create a peaceful, prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future for all. This participation in the BRICS Summit has highlighted the importance of Vietnam's role on the international stage and, as part of its multifaceted and proactive diplomatic strategy, has provided an opportunity to further enhance its global influence.
