Four Dagon Myothit townships designated as special development zone outside Yangon

DEVELOPMENT projects have been still underway in four Dagon Myothit townships as a part of special development zone outside Yangon, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant told the Pyithu Hluttaw. He replied to the question raised by Pyithu Hluttaw MP Dr Shwe Pyi Soe from Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Constituency in Pyithu Hluttaw meeting on 17 July, “Is there any upgrade plan for Dagon Myothit district through the road connecting districts and a special economic zone plan in the district? ” The Union Minister responded that master plan for upgrading Yangon has been already written and according to it, four Dagon Myothit townships are located primarily in it. In addition, the implementation of the special development zone project has been continued according to different financial years and it also features housing projects that are being planned to build by the foreign investment, he said. Development projects will continue to be implemented in the four major townships for Yangon upgrade plan for Dagon Myothit (North), Dagon Myothit (South), Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) and Dagon Myothit (East), said the Union Minister. — TWA/ZS Four Dagon Myothit townships’ map.
