Thailand Strengthens Supply Chains Amidst Global Volatility
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) hosted a forum focused on enhancing supply chain resilience and sustainability to navigate global economic volatility and geopolitical tensions. Collaboration between public and private sectors, SME support, and digitalization were highlighted as key priorities.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) hosted the SET Sustainability Forum 2/2026 on July 21, 2026, under the theme “Turning Global Volatility into Strategic Competitive Advantage through Supply Chain.” The forum aimed to strengthen collaboration among public and private sectors to enhance Thailand's supply chain resilience. Policymakers, capital market leaders, and top executives gathered to exchange views on building a resilient, transparent, and sustainable supply chain amid global economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and shifting trade regulations. SET President Asadej Kongsiri affirmed the exchange's commitment to developing an ecosystem that supports risk management, elevates ESG standards, and maintains long-term competitiveness. Key initiatives include developing carbon data management tools like SETCarbon to meet global standards and broadening access to funding across the supply chain, aligning with SET’s vision of being “The Trusted Gateway to Inclusive Opportunities.” In his keynote address, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas emphasized the "Big Brother Helps Little Brother" approach, encouraging large corporations to support SMEs and trading partners through knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and business opportunities. He also highlighted the vital role of the PromptBiz platform in connecting business data, streamlining transactions, and expanding SMEs' access to funding as a key driver of Thailand’s economy. Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO), noted that today's investors increasingly prioritize supply chain resilience and sustainability practices over financial performance alone. He stressed that transparent and traceable supply chains reduce costs, improve efficiency, and attract long-term investment, making collaboration between the public, private, and capital markets essential for businesses to adapt and grow sustainably. The forum also featured a panel discussion titled “Navigating Global Volatility… Building Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains,” with representatives from industry, logistics, the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), and financial institutions. The session was moderated by Supakorn Ekachaipaiboon, SET Vice President – Head of ESG Infrastructure Development.
