Cambodian National Assembly President Returns Home Safely After Successful Official Visit to Vietnam
A high-level delegation from the Cambodian National Assembly, led by President Khuon Sudary, safely returned home on the evening of July 29, 2026, concluding an official visit to Vietnam. The visit aimed to foster "traditional friendship, good neighborliness, and comprehensive, enduring, and strategic cooperation." During the trip, the delegation held meetings with Vietnamese leaders, strengthening parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.
A high-level delegation from the Cambodian National Assembly, led by President Khuon Sudary, safely returned to the motherland on the evening of July 29, 2026, after completing an official and friendship visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The visit successfully fulfilled its mission to promote the supreme interests of the nation through proactive parliamentary diplomacy with neighboring Vietnam, in line with the spirit of "traditional friendship, good neighborliness, and comprehensive and enduring strategic cooperation." During the visit to Vietnam from July 27 to 29, National Assembly President Khuon Sudary held separate meetings and working discussions with key Vietnamese leaders, including General Secretary of the Communist Party and President To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. She also met with Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Parliamentarians Group and President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association. Members of the Cambodian parliamentary delegation, including Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Finance, Banking, and Auditing Cheang Vun; Chairman of the Committee on Planning, Investment, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Development, Environment, Water Resources, and Meteorology Dr. Loy Sophat; Chairman of the Committee on Interior Affairs, National Defense, Public Function, and Border Affairs Keab Chutima; Chairwoman of the Committee on Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth, Labor, Vocational Training, and Women's Affairs Lok Heang; Chairwoman of the Committee on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Posts, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction Nin Saphan; and Mr. Suoh Muhsin, also held working discussions with their respective counterparts in the Vietnamese National Assembly committees to share information and exchange work experiences. During the three-day visit, the Cambodian delegation also visited Viettel, a telecommunications company investing in Cambodia under the "Metfone" brand. They also visited Military Hospital 108, aiming to strengthen people-to-people ties, promote investment, and enhance cooperation in the health sector, thereby serving the supreme interests of both nations and their peoples.
