AYEYARWADDY TIMES (Magway), June 30 Local residents have reported that in Magway Region, the provisional government army is conducting daily roundups for conscription, causing the movement of local men on some roads to become almost non-existent. At major entry and exit points and checkpoints within Magway Township, the provisional government army has intensified checks, and due to the roundups of men traveling on passenger buses for conscription, there are now hardly any passengers on the buses, according to local residents. "Now, when buses travel on the roads, there are very few men on the buses. Everyone is afraid of being arrested and doesn't dare to go out," a local resident told the Ayeyarwaddy Times. It is understood that the areas where these roundups are taking place are the Magway-Natmauk road and city border checkpoints, and local residents from villages such as Khin Phant Gyi village, Tin Pin Kan Pauk village, and Nat Kan village are being rounded up for military service. Furthermore, investigations have revealed that the provisional government army is continuously carrying out roundups at the Thitchauk Gate on the Magway-Taungdwingyi road, Yin Seik Police Outpost, Magway City Bypass road, and within the cargo truck yard. It is understood from truck drivers that the current situation is likely to impact the flow of goods, as workers involved in loading and unloading at the Magway truck yard are afraid of being arrested and are unable to move around.
