Can Tho Seeks Stronger Cooperation with Australia in Education, Climate Resilience

Can Tho City in southern Vietnam aims to further deepen cooperation with Australia in the education sector and in strengthening climate change resilience. This move comes against the backdrop of the developing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. City officials lauded Australia as an important development partner for Vietnam, praising the practical outcomes achieved through past cooperation. They highlighted the significant potential for collaboration in areas such as high-quality human resource development, science and technology, innovation, national governance, and sustainable development. Appreciation was expressed for Australia's continued support, with confidence that bilateral ties will become increasingly substantive and effective. Vietnam emphasizes the importance of maintaining peace, security, stability, and freedom of navigation and overflight in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). To enhance digital capacity, Vietnam is expanding cooperation with the UN, international organizations, other countries, and development partners in training, knowledge sharing, innovation, and force development, while promoting science, technology, and digital transformation.
