Cambodia Awards Master's Degrees to Over 600 Educators in Quality Enhancement Program
Cambodia's Ministry of Education awarded Master's degrees to 625 graduates of a quality enhancement program for educational administrators and teachers. This initiative aims to improve educational quality and professional development for educators.
His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, presented Master's degrees to students in the program to enhance the qualifications of school administrators and teachers on July 11, 2026, at the Tuke Doubl Building of the Royal University of Phnom Penh. According to a report on this day, 625 students successfully completed the program and met all conditions to receive their degrees. Among them, 218 were female. The graduates include 412 teachers (182 female) and 213 school administrators (36 female). His Excellency the Minister of Education stated that this day is an auspicious occasion where he participated in the Master's degree conferment ceremony for the first cohort of graduates from the program to enhance the qualifications of school administrators and teachers at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. He noted that this achievement is the result of the diligent efforts of the leadership of the GEIP/GEIP-AF project, collaborators, and the working group of the Faculty of Education at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, as well as the participation and perseverance of the 625 graduates, who are school administrators and teachers. His Excellency continued, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport would like to express its gratitude to all the students who have continued their studies and achieved success. His Excellency expressed his confidence that all graduates will utilize their knowledge to contribute to the development of schools and further enhance student learning activities. Specifically, he expects them to achieve model school standards in response to the recommendations of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, who has outlined four priority measures aimed at improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes. These include: 1) strengthening governance, 2) reviewing and adjusting curricula and extracurricular activities to meet the needs of strengthening students' knowledge, discipline, ethics, and behavior, 3) paying attention to student health through school feeding programs and monitoring food quality in schools, and 4) promoting and encouraging the participation of parents, guardians, and the community in education.
