Following the complaint, specialized forces from the Mongkol Borei District Police Inspectorate conducted an investigation, identified the suspect, and arrested Yim Sophal in Ruessei Kroch commune. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the theft and admitted to having previously served time in Banteay Meanchey Provincial Prison for a similar offense. Despite his past incarceration, he allegedly reoffended after his release. He was subsequently sent to the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court on the same day for legal proceedings.
