His Excellency Mr. Sorayot, the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar, and U Tint Wai Hson, Chairman of the Tachileik District Administration Committee, met on the afternoon of September 14th in the meeting hall of the District General Administration Department in Tachileik City, Shan State (Eastern). They discussed border security, the reduction of drug and cross-border crimes, and cooperation on flood and haze issues. During the meeting, views were exchanged on the development of Myanmar-Thailand border trade, the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries, and cultural cooperation. Following that, the delegation led by the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar and officials from the Tachileik District continued their discussions at the Lord Eagle Hotel in the Wine Jao ward of Tachileik City, discussing matters of promoting friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand. It is understood that Tachileik City, being a major border trade city bordering Mae Sai City on the Myanmar-Thailand border, held these discussions to enable cooperation on trade, people's movement, security, and natural disaster issues between the two countries.
