Cambodia Launches New Websites for Provincial Information to Enhance Speed and Efficiency

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Information of Cambodia have announced the launch of new websites for all 25 provincial information departments. This initiative aims to leverage digital technology to provide information to citizens more swiftly, broadly, effectively, and reliably. Speaking at the official launch ceremony for the "25 Provincial Information Departments Joint Website" on September 21, 2026, at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, H.E. Net Phakda, Minister of Information, stated that this achievement is the fruit of commitment, close cooperation, and joint efforts between the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, with a single goal and direction: to use digital technology to deliver information to citizens faster, more extensively, more effectively, and with greater reliability. He emphasized that this event is not merely an announcement of new websites but a significant step forward for the Ministry of Information in digitally transforming and modernizing the information and audiovisual sector in the Kingdom of Cambodia. "The achievement we are officially launching today did not happen by chance. It stems from joint hard work, continuous facilitation, and the close spirit of cooperation between the two ministries," H.E. Minister Phakda stated. He also highly commended and sincerely praised the technical teams and expert officials from both the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications for dedicating their physical strength, mental energy, time, and intellect to design, develop, test, and prepare this Government Content Management System (CMS). "This work is not just a technical task; it is building a foundation for how state information institutions produce, manage, distribute, and disseminate information to the public," the Minister stressed. He further elaborated that the cooperation between the two ministries has established a common information infrastructure with aligned technological standards, a more efficient management system, and a strong focus on digital security. "It also significantly contributes to integrating information from sub-national administrations to the national level, making it more coherent, orderly, and with clear sources. This is the construction of a digital government information system that not only provides information but also creates new channels of communication between state institutions and citizens," H.E. Net Phakda added. The Minister of Information also noted that everyone is living in an era where information travels faster than ever before, and digital technology has changed how people receive, seek, and share information. He highlighted that citizens today no longer need to wait for radio or television broadcast times; information can reach them in seconds via smartphones, websites, mobile applications, social networks, and many other digital platforms. "Therefore, the speed of information is also the speed of an institution's response. As the demands of the public change, the way information institutions work must also change. We cannot use yesterday's methods to respond to today's and tomorrow's information needs. Hence, the dissemination of government information must move from traditional formats to multi-platform content distribution. We must ensure that official government information reaches citizens, regardless of where they are or which platform they use," H.E. Minister Phakda concluded.
