Indonesia's Jabodetabek Region Swelters as Temperatures Hit 34 Degrees Celsius

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) regions on Monday, July 20, will be dominated by cloudy to cloudy conditions with air temperatures ranging from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius. Entering the peak of the dry season in most areas of Java, the weather tends to be dry, but the potential for light rain is still local due to atmospheric dynamics. In the DKI Jakarta area, the weather is expected to be cloudy from morning to noon, then cloudy in the afternoon to evening. The air temperature ranges from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 45-85 percent. South Jakarta and East Jakarta are expected to be the areas with the highest temperature reaching 34 degrees Celsius, while Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands are in the range of 25-33 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Bogor area is predicted to experience sunny cloudy weather with air temperatures between 22 to 31 degrees Celsius. The Puncak, Cisarua, and southern Bogor Regency areas remain the region with the coldest temperature in Jabodetabek. In the afternoon, cloud cover is expected to increase, but the chance of rain is still low. In Depok City, the weather is predicted to be sunny with a temperature ranging from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions are also expected in Tangerang with a temperature of 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. As for Bekasi, it is estimated to be one of the hottest areas in Jabodetabek with a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius during the day. The weather, which tends to be sunny, is expected to support community activities, but residents are urged to reduce direct exposure to the sun at noon. BMKG urges the public to maintain adequate body fluids, use protection from sun exposure such as hats, umbrellas, or sunscreen, and limit heavy physical activity at 11.00 to 15.00 WIB when the air temperature is at its highest point. As the dry season expands, the public is also urged to remain vigilant against drier air and potential winds that can increase the risk of land fires and health disorders. In general, the weather in Jabodetabek on Monday is expected to be conducive for office activities, travel, and outdoor activities. Even though the chance of rain is relatively small, the public is still advised to monitor the latest weather information from the BMKG as a precautionary measure if there is a sudden change in weather conditions.
