Boracay's First Hotel-Casino Prioritizes Local Hiring, Boosting Aklan Economy

KABAN Hotel and Casino, the first hotel-casino in world-famous Boracay Island, is actively contributing to the local economy through its commitment to community development. Developer Golden TW Realty and Development Corp. announced that approximately 40% of its workforce comprises individuals from Aklan province, where Boracay Island is located. This initiative underscores the company's stated "commitment to local hiring and community development." KABAN opened last week within a 23-hectare master-planned development in Barangay Yapak, Boracay, at Station 0. The property features an 88-room, six-story hotel and a 2,000-square-meter casino floor licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), offering table games, slot machines, and electronic gaming options. The property developer anticipates that the hotel-casino will generate new business opportunities as tourism activity expands in the northern part of Boracay. They emphasized that the presence of a hotel-casino would complement, rather than replace, Boracay’s established beach, dining, and nightlife attractions. "As we open our doors, our greatest hope is not simply for KABAN to shine in Boracay but to help the island and its people shine even brighter on the world stage," said KABAN President and CEO Kevin Wong.
