Vietnam Summer Camp 2026 Strengthens Overseas Youths' Homeland Bonds

Vietnam is organizing the "Vietnam Summer Camp 2026" aimed at strengthening the bonds of overseas youths with their homeland. The program, running from July 12-25, will bring together 105 overseas Vietnamese youths from 35 countries and territories. Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said the participants return to Vietnam at a particularly significant moment. She noted that Vietnam has entered a new stage of development following the 14th National Party Congress, with ongoing reorganisation of administrative units creating new development space for localities and the nation, unlocking fresh potential, encouraging innovation and providing new momentum for faster and more sustainable growth. The program will introduce delegates to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage, including UNESCO-recognised sites such as the Complex of Hue Monuments, My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An Ancient Town and Hue Royal Court Music. It combines heritage tours with history lessons, cultural experiences and Vietnamese language activities to strengthen participants' understanding of their roots and foster national pride. The organization of this summer camp is seen as part of the efforts by the Vietnamese Communist Party under its one-party system to strengthen ties with the overseas Vietnamese community, as part of the nation's development strategy. Particularly, it aims to foster patriotism among the younger generation and encourage their future contributions to Vietnam.
