Residents of several villages in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, have been relocated to safer areas after an embankment overflowed, causing flooding in the villages, according to the Myanmar Fire Brigade. It is reported that flooding occurred in Tangar Village, Yechangbo Village, Bagan Village, Rakhine Village, and Anya Kyan Village starting around 6:30 AM on August 8th in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, due to the overflow of the main embankment. It is reported that members of the Madaya Township Fire Station, Madaya Rescue Team, Red Cross members, and volunteer association members collaborated to assist in relocating households from the flooded villages to safer locations, including the school in Umin Village, the township hospital, and the monastery in Yopin Village, all located in the Upper Taung Kyan Village tract.
