Kampong Cham Province Recognizes Top High School Graduates with Awards and Scholarships

In Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, an awards ceremony was held to honor students who achieved outstanding results in the high school graduation examination. Governor of Kampong Cham Province, H.E. Un Chantha, and Chairman of the Provincial Council, H.E. Khlot Phon, presented awards to 26 students from Kampong Cham city as a gesture of encouragement. This initiative aims to support these individuals, who are considered vital human resources for the future development of the nation. According to Mr. Ly Mengsan, Director of the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Kampong Cham Province, 8,517 candidates took the high school graduation examination in 2026, with 7,427 passing, an 85.42% success rate. Among them, 100 students achieved excellent results (Grade A). Governor Un Chantha praised the students for their diligent efforts over 12 years, stating that this success is a source of pride not only for the students, their families, and schools but also for Kampong Cham Province as a whole. The governor attributed this success to five key factors: a peaceful society, the government's policy focusing on human resource development, the students' own hard work, teachers' guidance, and the support of families and society. The governor encouraged the students to clearly define their further learning goals at the university level and to major in fields they are passionate about. He emphasized that acquiring specialized knowledge will serve as a crucial foundation for building their future, their families, and contributing to national development. The 26 honored students each received a laptop, one million riels (approximately $250 USD), and school supplies. Additionally, five students with disabilities (hearing impaired) each received two million riels (approximately $500 USD), school supplies, and five scholarships.
