US Carrier Strike Group Departs Thailand After Port Visit

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3, and its accompanying units departed Thailand on September 6, concluding a scheduled port visit. The strike group had been visiting the Sri Racha and Pattaya region in Thailand's Chonburi province. This port call is understood to be part of efforts to strengthen security cooperation between Thailand and the United States. It is believed that during the visit, the carrier strike group engaged in joint exercises and goodwill activities with the Royal Thai Navy, aiming to contribute to regional stability and security. Visits by US Navy carrier strike groups to the Southeast Asian region hold significant importance in maintaining the regional balance of power and strengthening ties with allies and partners, especially amidst China's increasing maritime assertiveness.
