Vietnam's Region 9 Military Command Achieves First-Half Military and Defense Tasks

On July 13, Region 9 Military Command of Vietnam organized a conference to review its military and defense tasks for the first half of 2026. In the early months of 2026, the Party Committee and Command of Region 9, along with Party committees and commanders at all levels, deeply understood and implemented resolutions and directives from higher authorities. They led and directed the armed forces of the region to successfully complete their training, combat readiness, and absolute protection of key targets, continuously enhancing the overall quality and combat strength of the armed forces. The region achieved 100% of its recruitment and conscription targets, with higher quality personnel compared to the previous year. Training for various subjects was conducted accurately according to content and program, with over 98.5% participation. All training items met requirements, with over 78% rated as good or excellent, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment. Additionally, the armed forces of Region 9 contributed tens of thousands of man-days to assist the people in harvesting crops and building new rural areas. They also supported the construction and donation of over 150 "Comrade's Houses" and "Gratitude Houses," strengthening the bond with the people. The "500-Day-Night Campaign" was also effectively implemented with good quality results. On this occasion, the Minister of National Defense awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals from Region 9 Military Command for their outstanding achievements in reorganizing administrative units at all levels and in the activities of two-level local government.
