Cambodia Seizes Truck Carrying Illegal Timber Amid Allegations of Influential Intervention

A truck carrying illegally logged timber was seized by forest rangers in Preah Vihear province, northeastern Cambodia. The seized wood is of the 'Doung Cham' species, and the truck is reportedly owned by a well-known timber trader in Kampong Thom province, known as 'Teng'. He is also said to be a member of the security forces and is allegedly attempting to intervene to secure the release of the vehicle and timber.
