Lam Dong Province Proposes Coastal Development Projects for Business Investment
Lam Dong Province has proposed investment opportunities to businesses for coastal transportation infrastructure, ecological urban development, TOD urban areas, and park projects. The initiative aims to expand urban space, improve infrastructure, and boost socio-economic growth.
Lam Dong Province, located in Vietnam's Central Highlands, is actively seeking business investment for significant development projects along its coastline. On July 17, the Provincial People's Committee convened a meeting with enterprises to propose investment plans for coastal transportation infrastructure, ecological urban development, TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) areas, and the Phan Thiet urban park. According to the Provincial Department of Construction, Lam Dong is currently focusing on attracting investment in technical infrastructure projects for transportation and urban development that offer superior advantages for coastal areas. Specifically, a coastal road project spanning approximately 14km is envisioned. This route will connect the roundabout of DT.706B road to the intersection at Dốc Campuchia in Tien Thanh ward. The project also includes the construction of a river overpass and the reclamation of about 84.8 hectares of land from the sea. Upon completion of the planning, these reclaimed areas are intended to become modern urban spaces harmonizing with nature, featuring coastal green belts and central parks to create a beautiful landscape. A key feature will be the integration of commercial and service complexes, alongside high-rise apartment buildings, all connected to the central parks of each zone, establishing unique urban characteristics. Furthermore, the TOD urban development project in Binh Thuan ward holds potential for explosive growth, contingent on the progress of the North-South high-speed railway project. Its implementation is expected to spur the development of urban railway systems, metro stations, bus terminals, warehousing, hotels, and other utility services. Additionally, the Hung Vuong Park area and the North Flood Drainage Urban Area in Phu Thuy ward, covering approximately 300 hectares, are planned to meet urbanization targets and urban green space requirements in line with the provincial planning orientation. Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, stated that coastal projects possess significant potential for effectively exploiting surrounding land resources. He emphasized that business investment in these projects would contribute to expanding urban spaces, completing infrastructure, and creating more green areas, thereby promoting the province's socio-economic growth. Consequently, relevant departments and localities must proactively coordinate and support enterprises in surveying and selecting suitable locations to propose and proceed with project implementation in the coastal region.
