Bac Ninh City Police Debuts, Urged to Complete Structure

A ceremony was held to mark the debut of the new city police department in Bac Ninh City, Vietnam. General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, attended the ceremony and praised the recent achievements of the municipal public security force. Minister Quang stated that the establishment of the city police marks a new stage in maintaining security, public order, and supporting the local socio-economic development, expecting greater contributions from the department. Bac Ninh City has been preparing for its elevation to a centrally-run city in recent years, and the establishment of the city police is being pursued in conjunction with the strengthening of its urban governance system. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the restructuring of local administrative and security organizations typically serves the dual purpose of strengthening central government control and promoting regional development. The city police department is now tasked with completing its organizational structure at an early stage and further enhancing its functions. This is essential for addressing the growing security needs and maintaining/improving the investment environment in Bac Ninh City, which is experiencing rapid economic growth.
