Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Leads War Heroes Commemoration in Con Dao

On the evening of July 25, at Hang Duong Cemetery in Con Dao Special Zone, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Tran Luu Quang, presided over a ceremony to offer flowers, burn incense, and light candles in tribute to war heroes and martyrs on the occasion of the 79th War Invalids and Martyrs Day. This ceremony expresses respect for the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Vietnam's independence and national construction. Con Dao Island holds a special historical significance, having been a place where many political prisoners and patriots were detained and perished from the French colonial era through the American War. Commemoration here carries profound meaning for the Vietnamese people. City Party Committee leaders also attended the event and met with military officials in the Con Dao Special Zone. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the City Military Command, and the Vietnam Coast Guard also conducted their respective activities to honor the spirits of war heroes and martyrs in Con Dao.
