Cambodia Provides Agricultural Support to Displaced Families in Preah Vihear

In Cambodia's Preah Vihear province, an agricultural support project is underway to aid 250 families displaced by border conflicts with Thailand, aiming to facilitate their livelihood restoration and ensure food security. Under the leadership of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, these families received vegetable seeds, irrigation water pumps, 5,000-liter water storage tanks, hoses, nets for vegetable cultivation, gardening tools, organic fertilizer, and fuel for water pumps on September 21, 2026. This assistance is designed to help those who were forced to leave their homes due to the conflict to build a foundation for self-sufficient living. The beneficiary families will also receive practical training in safe and nutritious vegetable cultivation techniques, including food safety and environmentally friendly farming methods. Expert officials from the department will regularly visit the farmers to monitor progress and provide further support. The project is supported by the Green Climate Fund and the Cambodian government, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment, with technical assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
