Administrator including 2 people collecting conscription fees after dragging youths for conscription shot dead in Sintku

Yangon, July 11 Two people, including a village administrator who was dragging youths for conscription and forcibly collecting conscription fees in Sintku Township, Mandalay Region, were shot dead, according to local residents and military sources. The incident occurred on July 8, shortly after 6 a.m., when unidentified gunmen entered the "La Pyit Wun" tea shop in Shwegondine Village, Sintku Township, and opened fire on Shwegondine Village Administrator Aung San Win and village group administrator Than Zaw. According to military sources, both Administrator Aung San Win and Administrator Than Zaw died on the spot as a result of the shooting, and all the gunmen who carried out the attack escaped. It has not yet been confirmed which group carried out the attack. It is known that Aung San Win and Than Zaw, who died, were collaborating with the military council troops to drag and hand over youths in the village group for conscription, and were forcibly collecting conscription fees monthly, as well as providing daily reports to the military. A local resident said, "Aung San Win and Than Zaw were both involved in collaborating with the military to drag and arrest people, and to forcibly collect conscription fees monthly.
