Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Enhances International Cooperation in Austria
A delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) visited Austria to engage in discussions covering scientific and technological cooperation, security, ASEAN anniversary events, and the establishment of a Vietnamese community. This visit underscores Vietnam's efforts to expand its international academic and diplomatic networks.
From July 19th to 23rd, a delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), led by Professor Tran Tuan Anh, Vice President of VAST, conducted a working visit to the Republic of Austria. This visit aimed to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation, enhance security collaboration, and foster people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Austria. During their stay, the delegation extended congratulations on Austria's National Day and held discussions focused on bolstering cooperation in security and law enforcement between the two nations. A ceremony was also held to commemorate 25 years of cooperative training partnerships with Austrian counterparts. Furthermore, the delegation participated in events celebrating the 58th anniversary of ASEAN's establishment in Austria, reaffirming contributions to regional cooperation. Notably, the establishment and inauguration ceremony of the Liaison Committee for the Vietnamese Community in Austria took place. This initiative is seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen ties with Vietnamese citizens living abroad and promote cultural exchange. VAST's international engagement is built upon the foundations of scientific and technological diplomacy and people's diplomacy. This visit to Austria is expected to contribute to enhancing Vietnam's presence within the international community.
