Chan Thy, a popular Kun Khmer (Cambodian boxing) fighter in Cambodia, has been arrested on charges of drug use and illegal possession. The anti-drug police of Kandal Provincial Police arrested Chan Thy (male, 29 years old, born in 1997) on July 26, 2025. The athlete is suspected of using (smoking) and illegally possessing methamphetamine. Currently, Chan Thy is temporarily detained at the Kandal Stung Police Station in Kandal Province, and legal proceedings are underway. This case has garnered significant attention within Cambodia.
