Cambodia Prioritizes Human Capital Development for Enhanced Education and Global Competitiveness

The Cambodian government is prioritizing the development of human resources equipped with knowledge, skills, virtue, and a high sense of responsibility as a national imperative. This is a key focus of the 7th mandate government's 'Pentagonal Strategy,' underscoring the commitment to cultivating talent essential for national development. In this context, Kampong Thom province recently celebrated the graduation of approximately 200 students who completed their studies in the 2025-2026 academic year, with certificates, commendations, and awards presented. Ms. Lim Kunthary, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province, expressed her profound joy, stating that the students' bright smiles and successes are a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and resilience, as well as the dedicated support from their parents and educators. The Deputy Governor highlighted that the nation's peace, comprehensive development, and the government's strategy of prioritizing 'human capital development' have paved the way for such achievements. She urged educational institutions' leadership to focus on educational quality and student growth, foster safe and inclusive learning environments, and update curricula to meet contemporary needs. Teachers were encouraged to uphold their professional ethics and play a crucial role in nurturing students' moral values and aspirations. For the students, she emphasized the importance of acquiring soft skills and the ability to coexist with others and adapt to change, in addition to academic knowledge. Furthermore, the significance of parental collaboration was stressed, recognizing that quality education stems from a strong partnership among schools, teachers, students, and families. The Kampong Thom Provincial Administration lauded the contributions of educational institutions, including Arizona School, and expressed gratitude for their substantial efforts in human resource development. Arizona School offers trilingual education incorporating Singaporean and Chinese curricula, with a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The school also provides extracurricular English and Chinese language classes for students from kindergarten to high school. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the school has 1,125 students, guided by its motto of 'Discipline, Morality, and Quality.' Results from the high school diploma examination held on August 10, 2026, showed commendable achievements, with 2 students receiving an 'A' grade, 7 receiving 'B', 10 receiving 'C', 10 receiving 'D', and 4 receiving 'E'.
