Vietnamese President To Lam, during his visit to France, discussed strengthening economic and financial cooperation with French counterparts. He specifically called for enhanced cooperation in increasing the localization rate of core technologies within Vietnam's new-generation Earth observation satellite program and for doctoral and supervised master's training courses to cultivate Vietnamese scientists. Mastering quantum technologies was also highlighted as a key objective. In the scientific and technological domain, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) signed two cooperation agreements in Paris. These exchanges took place in the presence of President To Lam. Regarding cultural exchanges, following the Vietnamese Film Week in France in 2025, a proposal was made to organize a Vietnamese Theatre Week in France in October. This event is expected to feature water puppetry, musical theatre, contemporary dance, and excerpts from traditional Vietnamese performances. Vietnam is increasingly demonstrating its importance within BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). Over the past year, it has emerged as an economy with significant potential and a notable manufacturing hub, particularly in industries such as textiles and garments, and electronics. Vietnam's participation in the BRICS Summit signifies its growing role and responsible contributions to global issues and the future of the region and the world. Furthermore, Vietnam attaches importance to deepening comprehensive cooperation with Poland, aiming to strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties. This aligns with Vietnam's strategy to enhance its voice in international frameworks, rules, and standards, thereby solidifying its global standing. In domestic affairs, the Inspection Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee proposed disciplinary action against Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee. This action underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain discipline within Vietnam's one-party system. Ensuring adequate fuel supplies is considered crucial for Vietnam's economic growth. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of fuel as the "lifeblood" of the economy and a vital component of national security, stressing the need for sufficient supply under all circumstances.
