Musician Warns of Israeli Group Incursions in Thai Tourist Spots with New Song

National artist Aed Carabao, whose real name is Yuenyong Opakul, has finished recording a new song titled "Where Do Jewish People Come From?" (Kon Yiw Ma Jak Nai) to address a significant social issue concerning alleged takeovers of key Thai tourist destinations by Israeli groups, Amarin TV reported on September 10. He had previously posted warnings about Israeli groups allegedly taking over areas in Pai district, Mae Hong Son province, and Koh Phangan, Surat Thani province. Upon seeing former leader of the People’s Alliance for Democracy, also known as the "Yellow Shirts", Sondhi Limthongkul launching a new movement under the concept of “Taking Back our Thailand,” with one objective being to stop Israeli groups from taking over popular resort destinations, he decided to support it with this new song. The lyrics of the song reflect on historical and ethnic perspectives. It draws a comparison by noting that the origins of the Thai people remain a subject of debate among archaeologists, with no definitive conclusion reached regarding theories such as the Altai Mountains or Yunnan province, because Thais are, in reality, a blend of various Asian ethnicities with a long, shared history. Furthermore, the song emphasizes a crucial stance: regardless of where Thai people originated from, this is where Thais have settled. Most importantly, it asserts that “Israelis are not Thai, and Thai soil is not Israel,” calling for collective action to protect Thailand’s sovereignty and territory.
