Mony 2026 Event Unites Cambodian Youth for Future Aspirations

On September 13th, 'Meet & Greet with Mony 2026' returned as one of Cambodia’s most anticipated youth events, drawing over 150 outstanding students from across the country to AmCam Exchange. The participants spent the day exploring pathways to higher education, local and international scholarships, and careers within Cambodia’s rapidly growing digital economy. Founded in 2020 by Ms. Seng Rothsethamony, Co-Founder and CEO of Bamnang, the annual event has evolved into a vital platform connecting students with mentors, scholarship resources, and real-world opportunities, bridging education, technology, and entrepreneurship throughout Cambodia. This year's edition also aligned with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s strategic push to advance digital education, strengthen human resource development, and prepare young people for the future of work. The day commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Sara Feuerstein, Acting Public Relations Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia. This was followed by a roundtable discussion featuring Dr. Matthew Schnek, Ms. Seng Rothsethamony, Mr. Menghieng Ngov, and Mr. Sophea Chea. The afternoon concluded with networking sessions and a lively lucky draw for the students. Mr. Menghieng Ngov, Co-Founder and COO of Bamnang Housing, addressed student safety and adjusting to city life, framing Bamnang Housing’s mission as one that extends beyond mere shelter to fostering a supportive community throughout their academic journey. Dr. Matthew Schnek, Interim President of the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), guided students through AUPP’s academic programs and scholarship opportunities, offering clarity to many as they considered their university choices. Mr. Sophea Chea, Executive Director of AmCam Exchange and an EducationUSA Advisor, closed the speaker lineup with a session titled “Unlocking Dreams: Study Tips and Scholarship Opportunities to the United States and STEM Education,” which garnered significant interest from participants eager to pursue studies abroad, particularly in America. “This event is more than a meet and greet; it’s a step toward a digital future where education meets innovation,” stated Ms. Seng Rothsethamony. “We want our students to see that creativity, technology, and courage can transform not only their lives but their communities as well.” Six years since its inaugural event in 2020, Meet & Greet with Mony has become a milestone for Cambodian students taking their first steps toward leadership through digital learning, and a clear demonstration of Bamnang’s commitment to cultivating a future-ready generation of Cambodian innovators. Students left the event feeling optimistic and equipped with the necessary information for their future educational endeavors.
