The 79th Martyrs' Day ceremony was held this morning (July 19) at the Martyrs' Mausoleum in Bahan Township, Yangon, with State President U Min Aung Hlaing attending to pay respects. Along with the State President, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Ri, the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw U Aung Lin Dway, the Chief Justice of the Union U Tha Htay, the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers, and responsible officials attended the ceremony and laid wreaths to pay homage to General Aung San and the great martyr leaders. According to the ceremony program, after the State President and responsible officials paid their respects, the Yangon Region Government laid wreaths and paid their respects. Following that, family members of the great martyr leaders laid wreaths and paid their respects. Subsequently, 45 political parties that have been officially registered laid wreaths and paid their respects, followed by officials from foreign embassies laying wreaths and paying their respects.
