Railway employee arrested for throwing stones at DEMU train

A railway employee was arrested for throwing stones at the Pyay-Yangon DEMU express train that departed from Pyay Station and was heading to Yangon, according to Myanmar Railways. The incident occurred around 6 PM on September 21, when the Pyay-Yangon DEMU express train was hit with broken bricks between Phalong Station and Sanat Chaung Station in Taik Kyi Township. It is reported that the impact caused damage to the window glass on the left side of the first carriage (second carriage) of the DEMU express train. Upon investigation by the relevant railway police, it was found that the person who threw the broken bricks at the train was a male railway employee residing in Don Khai village, Taik Kyi Township. He was reportedly intoxicated from drinking alcohol and used broken bricks that were placed by the railway tracks for paving. Currently, the man who threw the broken bricks has been charged under Section 84 of the Railway Transportation Business Law at the Taik Kyi City Police Station.
