16th Int’l Salon of Security Equipment: MOSWRR UM attended the security equipment exhibition

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win attended the 16th International Salon of Security Equipment “Integrated Security 2026,” held in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 3 to 5 September 2026. Union Minister Dr. Soe Win was received by Mr. Alexander Kurenkov , Minister of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief (EMERCOM) of the Russian Federation, at the Bilateral Meeting Hall of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, where the exhibition was held. During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters concerning public safety and disaster management based on Russia’s practical experience, the training provided to enhance the capacity of personnel at various levels involved in responding to natural and man-made disasters, and the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two ministries on disaster management cooperation. They also exchanged views on possible assistance and support for enhancing capacity in various areas of disaster management. In connection with the devastating Mandalay earthquake, the Union Minister expressed his appreciation for Russia’s prompt assistance in search and rescue operations and humanitarian relief efforts, as well as for its support during previous storms and floods. The two sides also exchanged views on ongoing efforts to further strengthen cooperation in disaster management and related matters under the MoU to be signed between the two ministries. The exhibition was organized by Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief (EMERCOM) of the Russian Federation. Companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sale of firefighting and security vehicles, machinery and related equipment, as well as training institutions, participated in the exhibition. During his visit to the exhibition, the Union Minister observed firefighting vehicles and machinery, firefighting equipment and accessories, emergency command and control vehicles and related equipment used in disaster management, public warning and early-warning systems, and equipment used in natural-disaster response and other security and disaster-management operations. He also visited training schools and universities providing capacity-building and training for personnel involved in disaster management activities. In addition, he observed the completed construction and planned training programmes of a civil defence, rescue and emergency management training school in Kazan, as well as the operations of the Kazan flood search-and-rescue unit. During the exhibition, the Union Minister attended a briefing on disaster and security-related activities delivered by the Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation and the Mayor of Kazan, as well as a welcome dinner. The Union Minister also delivered remarks at the event, it’s learnt.
