Cambodia Inspects PKO Training Center Facilities Ahead of International Courses

Major General Prak Soth, Deputy Director General of the National Peacekeeping Center, representing Major General Sem Ratana, Acting Director General, on the morning of September 4, 2026, inspected the accommodation buildings and educational buildings at the Multinational Peacekeeping Force (PKO) Training Center in Phnom Sruoch district, Kampong Speu province. This center is scheduled to commence operations soon, with a particular focus on preparations for the upcoming UN tripartite cooperation project training in 2026, scheduled from October 5 to October 30, 2026, and from November 10 to December 19, 2026. According to the PKO Training Center, the Engineering Project Management Training, to be held from October 5 to October 30, 2026, aims to provide engineering officers from troop contributing countries (TCCs) with knowledge and practical skills in project management. This is crucial for effectively managing projects or construction work within peacekeeping missions. Meanwhile, the Intermediate Heavy Machinery and Field Emergency Rescue Training, scheduled from November 10 to December 19, 2026, will equip national and international trainees with skills in operating and maintaining intermediate heavy engineering machinery used in engineering operations. The PKO Training Center emphasized that trainees will receive additional training on field emergency rescue, which they may encounter during peacekeeping operations. The training is divided into three courses: 1. Engineering Project Management Training, from October 5 to October 30, 2026; 2. Intermediate Heavy Machinery Engineering Instructor Training, from November 10 to December 19, 2026; and 3. Field Medical Rescue Specialist Instructor Training, from November 10 to December 19, 2026. During the inspection of the accommodation and educational buildings at the PKO Training Center, Major General Prak Soth, on behalf of Major General Sem Ratana, expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership and all levels of officials at the PKO Training Center for the excellent organization and implementation of infrastructure development and training for multinational peacekeeping forces in the past. He stressed that the center will host the UN tripartite cooperation project training in 2026, from October 5 to October 30, 2026, and from November 10 to December 19, 2026. This requires the PKO Training Center to be fully prepared to ensure the success of these training courses, with the participation of the UN, partner countries, and trainees from various nations.
