Four shock rockets land and explode in Lashio city and Ramakh headquarters, one woman dies on the spot

Ayeyarwaddy Times July 10 Four shock rockets landed and exploded in Lashio city, northern Shan State, yesterday afternoon, July 9, killing a 38-year-old woman residing in Ward 10 on the spot due to shrapnel, according to local sources. The four shock rockets suddenly landed and exploded in Lashio city around 4:55 PM yesterday. It has not yet been confirmed which armed group fired these shock rockets. According to a statement from the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP Info), one of the incoming shock rockets landed and exploded inside the Northeastern Regional Military Command (Ramakh) of the State Administration Council army based in Lashio city, and another landed and exploded inside the No. 626 Infantry Battalion. Furthermore, another shock rocket landed and exploded on the house of a local resident near the Shweli Monastery in Ward 6 of Lashio city, while the remaining one landed and exploded within Ward 10. The shock rocket that landed in Ward 10 caused severe injuries to a 38-year-old woman who was in her house, resulting in her immediate death. Additionally, one local resident in Ward 6 sustained injuries. Some local residents have stated that these shock rockets were fired from the south of Sintawng, about 10 miles from Lashio city, and from the vicinity of the No. 68 Battalion on the Lashio-Mawnyaw road. However, the SSPP stated that the firing locations could not be independently confirmed.
