Vietnam and the UK are set to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors, including economy, science and technology, environmental protection, and renewable energy, as part of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The development of the Vietnam International Financial Centre (VIFC) is seen as a strategic task to connect international capital flows with the economy’s development needs, foster modern financial services, and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to engage more deeply in global markets. Agreements reached during recent high-level engagements are expected to translate the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership into practical cooperation in science and technology, agricultural trade, environmental protection, nature conservation, climate adaptation, and sustainable development, with tangible results anticipated at COP31 and beyond. The UK is accelerating investment in clean power across Southeast Asia, working closely with Vietnam through its co-leadership of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) to support the nation's ambition to expand renewable energy, unlock investment in offshore wind, and build a cleaner, more resilient energy system. As Vietnam enters a new growth phase demanding a more skilled workforce, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang expressed hope that universities will continue to innovate, broaden their fields of study, and enhance training quality to support Vietnam's workforce development and bilateral educational ties. Furthermore, Vietnam is advancing legislation aimed at completing the legal framework, clearing institutional bottlenecks, pooling resources, and unlocking creative potential within its cultural industries, with the goal of turning them into a breakthrough growth driver while shielding the domestic market and boosting cultural content. Vietnam's image as an active and responsible partner in the international community is helping to strengthen trust among governments, businesses, and people, including in Japan. Party General Secretary and President To Lam, during his visit to the US, called on American businesses and investors to adopt a long-term vision, affirming Vietnam's commitment to ensuring a stable and transparent policy environment and continuing institutional improvements.
