Former Bac Giang Party Secretary Bùi Văn Hải Removed from All Party Positions

The Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee has decided to remove Bùi Văn Hải, former Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, from all party positions. This disciplinary action stems from serious violations of party regulations and state laws in the performance of his duties, which resulted in grave consequences. According to an announcement made on the afternoon of July 20, during the first working day of the 14th Central Committee's 3rd plenum, the Central Committee reviewed cadre work and disciplined party members who committed violations. The Central Committee unanimously agreed to remove Bùi Văn Hải, a former member of the 12th Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Group, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Bac Giang (now belonging to Bac Ninh province), from all party positions. Previously, on May 20, the Central Inspection Commission concluded that Mr. Hải had violated regulations of the Party and state laws in performing his assigned responsibilities and in the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity. He also violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and on exemplary conduct. These violations caused very serious consequences, negatively impacting the prestige of the Party organization, the locality, and the working agency, necessitating disciplinary measures. Mr. Hải, 66 years old, is from Bac Ninh province and holds a Master's degree in Party Building and a Bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology. He served as a member of the 12th Central Committee and held the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee from 2015 to 2020.
