Vietnam's school opening day on September 5 is forecast to be mostly clear in the morning across the three regions, though localized heat is expected in parts of the North and Central. Afternoons and evenings may see scattered, sometimes heavy, thunderstorms in other Central and Southern areas.
On September 5, the school opening day in Vietnam, localized heat is expected in the North and areas from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh. Meanwhile, in other parts of the Central and Southern regions, scattered thunderstorms, sometimes heavy, are forecast for the afternoon and evening. The National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting announced this on September 4. According to the forecast, the morning of September 5 is expected to have relatively mild weather across all three regions, generally with little rain, making it largely conducive for the opening ceremony. Specifically, the North will experience sunny days, with potential for localized heat. Thunderstorms are expected in a few places from afternoon to night. Maximum temperatures will range from 32-35 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 35 degrees. Minimum temperatures will be between 24-27 degrees Celsius, dropping below 23 degrees in mountainous areas. In the Central region, sunny days are predicted, with thunderstorms expected in a few locations from afternoon to night. Particularly in areas from Quang Tri to Hue and along the South Central Coast, scattered thunderstorms, sometimes heavy, are likely in the afternoons. In the Central Highlands (Tay Nguyen) and the South, sunny days are expected, with scattered thunderstorms, and locally heavy rain, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. Thunderstorms are anticipated in a few places at night. In Hanoi, sunny days with potential for localized heat are forecast, with thunderstorms expected in a few locations from afternoon to night. Maximum temperatures will be 33-35 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 35 degrees. Minimum temperatures will be 26-28 degrees Celsius. Ho Chi Minh City will see sunny days, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings. Maximum temperatures will be 33-34 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures will be 25-27 degrees Celsius. The school opening ceremony is a significant event in Vietnam's one-party system, promoting educational access and social integration. While investment in educational infrastructure has grown with recent economic development, extreme weather events due to climate change can impact such occasions and learning environments, especially in rural areas.
