Cambodia to Establish First Air Separation Gas Plant with Chinese Investment in Kampong Speu
A Chinese firm, JINDING AIR LIQUEFACTION (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD., is set to establish Cambodia's first air separation gas production plant in Kampong Speu province. The facility will produce nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen for industrial, agricultural, and healthcare sectors, aiming to reduce imports and eventually export. Official inauguration is scheduled for August 2nd.
A groundbreaking initiative to establish Cambodia's first air separation gas production plant is underway in Kampong Speu province, spearheaded by Chinese firm JINDING AIR LIQUEFACTION (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD. The facility will focus on producing nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen to serve three key sectors: industry, agriculture, and healthcare. During a meeting with Kampong Speu Governor Dr. Cham Chansophal, Mr. Chen Zhonghui, Chairman of JINDING AIR LIQUEFACTION, detailed the project. He highlighted that Cambodia currently imports these gases from neighboring countries. However, with the new plant's operation, import reliance is expected to be significantly reduced or eliminated entirely, as the company possesses large-scale production capabilities. Furthermore, plans are in place for future exports to international markets. The selection of Kampong Speu as the strategic location was attributed to the province's rich potential, favorable geography for transportation, availability of sufficient labor, and, crucially, the provincial administration's effective policies that provide a warm and secure environment for investors. Governor Dr. Cham Chansophal expressed his warm welcome and congratulatory remarks to the company, emphasizing their confidence in the provincial administration's leadership and the Royal Government of Cambodia under Prime Minister Hun Manet. He assured the company of the provincial administration's readiness to support, encourage, and facilitate all necessary procedures for businesses and investors, ensuring smooth, successful, and sustainable operations within Kampong Speu. The factory is slated for official inauguration and operation on August 2, 2026. Source: AKP Khmer
